Steal My Online Strategy That Took 5 Years to Learn
2 min readAug 8, 2020
We’re in a creator’s economy, which is why content is the best way to grow our audiences as creative entrepreneurs.
The creator’s economy is why we say the word “influencer” or the phrase “Tik Tok famous” these days.
The Goal
I worked at a tech company in marketing and still didn’t know until recently how to grow my own brand as a solopreneur. It’s taken me 5 years to wrap my head around online strategy as a person who:
- Does not want to spend on ads, expensive tools, or employees
- Does not want to sell physical items that require shipping or packaging
- Builds digital products that others forward, share, retweet, save, print, highlight, and learn from
- Wants to divorce her time and money
- Wants income flowing to her while she raises children so she no longer has to choose between ‘stay at home mom’ or ‘working mom’
- Provides value for an increasingly-growing audience
The Mindset
Influencer ➡ Creative Producer
Influencers get a bad reputation that they’re glued to their phones, vain, or don’t provide value. It’s not fun to feel like you’re trying to become an influencer.
